The Ed.D. in Adult and Postsecondary Education prepares graduates for leadership positions in adult education, postsecondary education, and related fields.  This includes working as coordinators, directors, deans, and senior administrators at postsecondary educational institutions (community colleges, universities, etc.).

 

Program Details

The Ed.D. program requires 80 credit hours.  All the classes are delivered either online or through a blended format (online and audio conferencing).  Ed.D. students have a residency requirement that consists of two annual meetings (one to two days in length) on the Laramie campus during the spring semesters.

    Tuition: $206/credit    
    Fees: $15/credit for onsite classes, $40/credit for online classes

How to Apply

There is one application deadline for this program: January 15 for fall admission.

Step 1: Apply to UW and Professional Studies through the online applicant portal

  1. Click here to access the UW graduate applicant portal
  2. After completing the initial information page, you will receive an email from the system including a link and your temporary username and password
  3. Please complete the contact, academic, residency information, etc.
  4. Submit the $50 application fee
  5. Submit ALL required documents to the online document portal (applications with missing documents will not be considered)

      2. Adult and postsecondary education Informed Consent Agreement
      3. A personal statement (five double spaced type written page maximum)
      4. A current academic resume
      5. An academic essay (three to five pages, APA format)
      6. Unofficial transcripts from all postsecondary institutions (official copies should be sent to UW Admissions)
      7. Unofficial copies of GRE scores (official copies should be requested from GRE reporting and sent to UW Admissions)
  6. Use the applicant portal to request three letters of recommendation (use the attached form)
  7. Agree to admissions terms and submit your application

Step 2: Submit official copies of transcripts and test scores to UW Admissions

  1. Official transcripts from all postsecondary institutions should be requested and sent to UW Admissions
  2. Official GRE scores should be sent directly from GRE reporting to UW Admissions
