Adult and Postsecondary Education Degrees

The graduate program in Adult and Postsecondary Education at the University of Wyoming was the first of its kind in the Rocky Mountain region and today enjoys increasing recognition for its contributions in the areas of adult learning and teaching and higher education. Organized in 1950, the program initially was operated jointly by the College of Education and the Division of Community Services, headed by Clarence D. Jayne.

All Adult and Postsecondary Education students can work as administrators and professional staff to supervise, design, deliver, and coordinate high quality formal, non-formal, and informant education programs to adults across the lifespan.

We prepare students for entry-level leadership positions with our Masters of Arts degree. Our Doctor of Education degree prepares students for advanced leadership positions. Our Doctor of Philosophy degree prepares students for university faculty positions and staff researcher positions in Adult and Postsecondary Education.
