   Overview of the University of Wyoming

A tier one research university, UW offers 180 undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs of study. The main campus is located in Laramie, Wyoming with extended learning opportunities throughout the state.

UW’s global impact begins at our very own doorstep with projects such as the GE High Plains Gasification Advanced Technology Center, the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), and the School of Energy Resources (SER).

The University of Wyoming Honors Program has been named as one of the best among public universities, and UW has the largest single-scholarship endowment for study abroad support in the U.S. Furthermore, UW students can receive University credit for courses taken through the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS).

A Division 1-A Athletics school, UW offers over 200 additional student clubs and organizations. Revered as one of the top “adventure colleges,” Laramie boasts exceptional climbing opportunities at Vedauwoo, excellent backcountry skiing, and vast mountain biking trails.
