1. With the use of the new University Signature (formally the UW Lettertype) will I have to replace all current stationery and business card materials? What about my print publications?
Especially given current economic conditions, please do not discard any current materials. Please order new materials as they are needed.
2. Are we allowed to make changes to the business card format or university stationery?
All UW units and respective staff, faculty, and organizations must utilize the university pre-approved business card and stationery templates. Templates may not be altered.
3. Where do I find all the provided resources to work within the UW Brand Identity?
An array of resources can be found under the Marketing Resources tab at: www.uwyo.edu/publicrelations/marketing
4. What if I cannot find all the marketing resources I need?
If they are not located on the Marketing Resources page, email uwmktg@uwyo.edu and we will help to provide you all elements you may need. We will be happy to work with you in the order requests are received. Please note that Institutional requests will take priority at all times.
5. Why can't I design whatever I want for my department?
UW is a large, influential community therefore making it is imperative that all UW units maintain a consistent brand identity and messaging to ensure the longevity of the greater UW brand. UW units may certainly maintain a level of individuality within the great UW brand but must nonetheless support the whole community.
6. How do I begin the bid process for a new UW publication project?
Email uwmktg@uwyo.edu and we will send you all information and materials necessary to initiate the UW bid process. Once you have completed your publication bid, we will work with you to secure bid results, successful production, and the final delivery of your publication project.
7. How do I access the new UPR Photo Database?
If you have not already acquired a new UPR Photo Database login, email mlyman1@uwyo.edu to set up a new account. Once you have acquired a new account: log onto: https://www.uwyo.edu/uprphotos and enter all relevant information.
8. How do I get my requested images from the new UPR Photo Database?
A user folder will be set up with your UW user name and you will be sent access to this folder. Simply copy these images from your user folder onto your desktop or a memory drive. Do not delay, as all images will be expunged from all accounts after 72 hours.
9. As a freelance designer, how do I acquire access to the new UPR Photo Database?
It's easy, email uwmktg@uwyo.edu and we'll get you set up. There is a $5 annual account fee for each non-UW employee user account. We can provide you directions to acquire a UW user account.
10. How do I become a UW freelance designer?
Freelance designers are hired on a case-by-case basis. All potential designers must apply to UW Institutional Marketing, interview, and provide a full portfolio. To get started email uwmktg@uwyo.edu.
11. I like the new Institutional Website graphic; can I use this for my Website?
Only pre-approved Institutional Websites may utilize this graphic. This list includes: Colleges and Schools, Foundation, Public Relations, Admissions, UW Athletics, and the Office of the President.
12. Our Website is not currently in the UW Content Management System; how to I become compliant?

13. I do not have the most recently design software and necessary training; how do I acquire software and how can I receive training?
Software and training are provided through Information Technology at www.uwyo.edu/infotech/training.
14. We have a lot of personal photos, is it possible to use any of these photos in our publications or on the website?
Yes, absolutely! The Institutional Marketing Department realizes that photo services cannot be in all places at all times to obtain the most representative photos. Therefore, we will at times rely on individual units to capture images. Our only request is that you send them our way first. If they meet our standards in both message and photo quality, we will approve them for use. This is our way of maintaining quality and consistency throughout the university, and eliminating the use of low grade photography.
Additionally, should you like to work with photo services to conduct a photo shoot, we encourage you to contact the Institutional Marketing Department at uwmktg@uwyo.edu.
15. We don't see a photo of our unit in the flash banner on the UW Homepage. Can we submit a photo?
Yes. We will do our best to provide adequate coverage of all units. However, if you do not see a photo, or wish to request a specific photo, please contact uwmktg@uwyo.edu and we will accommodate.
Additionally, this flash banner will soon be provided to all Tier 1 units as your individual banner. You will be allowed to customize the photos to showcase all programs within your unit. Please begin by selecting between 10 15 photos and send them our way. We will develop a custom banner and send you the flash graphic to load. Tier 1 units include Admissions, Outreach School, Foundation, Office of Research and Economic Development, SER, all Colleges, Haubbs School, EORI, and the Office of the President. If you do not see your unit listed and you believe you are a Tier 1, please contact us.
16. I cannot find the type of photo I am seeking for my publication or website. Are there other photos available?
The UW Photo Database provides approximately 1,000 photographs. We are in the process of uploading new photos daily, and hope to offer a vast array of photos within a couple of months. If you cannot find what you are looking for, please contact uwmktg@uwyo.edu and we will assist by pulling photos manually if available or we can arrange a photo shoot. Thank you for your patience as we load the new database!
17. How can my department Website get a drop-down menu like the one on the UW home page?
Presently the drop-down menu is restricted to the UW home page as it is not part of the standard content management system structure.
18. What happened to all of the links on the side of the UW home page?
