Media Relations has two functions—
to communicate the good news about UW and to get out the university's perspective when there are questions about our programs and policies. Our services are free to UW faculty, staff, and students.

UW experts list for external media

Media Relations maintains an online UW experts list, searchable by subject or individual, for access by the media.

The online list contains current names, academic credentials, publications, recent press releases, and contact information of members of the UW faculty and staff who have agreed to be media sources for specific subject areas.

UW personnel who choose not to be included in the experts list may still be contacted by the media for comment on campus concerns, city or statewide issues, or international events. Individuals maintain the right to decline the request for comment or instead choose to work through University Public Relations, the official UW media contact.
