Photos are an outstanding resource to help tell a story. Sometimes, it's a head shot of a speaker; sometimes, it's an environmental portrait.

The Photo Services staff offers advice on the best approach to take for your needs and to help you make better decisions about the photo requests you make. 

Photo Service provides consistently excellent images for projects requiring high quality visual standards. Our images promote UW's mission by showcasing innovative programs, outstanding students and faculty research.

Photo Service is available to help UW clients with thoughtful, creative assistance and provide images for marketing, studio portraiture, news events and UW athletics.

Studio photography
Photo service offers studio photographs in its facility in the basement of Knight Hall. It's the ideal setting for head shots of faculty and staff members that can be used for UW publications, Web sites and for news stories.

Environmental photography
Photo Service photographers can also photograph faculty, staff and students in casual, candid settings.

Official UW business
Use of UW Photo Service for official purposes by university academic and administrative units is free of charge, with the following exceptions.

Payment by IDR is required for prints, delivery of images on CD, and photo shoots requiring travel off the UW-Laramie campus. Print costs are as follows:

Additional prints of same image priced at reduced rate.

Scheduling of Photo Service photographers for university publications and Web sites should be coordinated through the Visual Communications office in University Public Relations as part of the publications and Web site planning process.
 

Unofficial or personal use
Recognized student organizations (RSOs), students, as well as UW employees requesting Photo Service for non-official purposes will pay the product charges listed above and all labor costs associated with photography and digital processing, including travel charges for photos shoots off the Laramie campus.

Photo Service charges $35 per hour during university business hours and $50 per hour at all other times.
