Water is a vital resource, especially in the Intermountain West, but also throughout the globe. Hydrologic changes over the past 2.6 million years can provide insight into the long-term availability of water, the processes by which water moves from place to place, and the ways that water shapes landscapes, ecosystems, and the climate. Our faculty and students work on questions about topics from groundwater hydrology and river dynamics, to the history of past droughts and their impacts on people, animals, vegetation, fires, and landforms.
