u’g’r’i’z’ Transformation

This project involves transformation values between u’g’r’i’z’ and UBVRcIc filter systems.  The study distinguishes luminosity class in order to generate transformation equations that are valid for varying classes.  These equations are limited to using standard stars from Smith et al. (2002) and Landolt (1992).  The standard stars have luminosity values that are extremely well known thus reject error.

The results from the standard stars will be examined to determine various properties of these stars and their relationships to the UBVRcIc system.  Color vs. Metallicity and color vs. color diagrams will be generated to represent the relationship between these filter systems.  The study will also be separated by luminosity class to account for physical differences in the standard stars.
