What are the facility hours?

Half Acre hours are from 6 am to 10 pm Monday through Friday, 9 am to 5 pm on Saturday and noon to 8 pm on Sunday during fall and spring semesters. In the summer our hours are 6 am to 8 pm Monday through Friday. There are exceptions for holidays and other special events which can be found in the brochure, online , or on our facility information postcards.

What are the swimming pool hours?

Swimming is available at Corbett Pool. Pool hours are 11 am to 1 pm and 7-9 pm Monday through Thursday, 11 am to 1 pm and 6-8 pm on Fridays and 1-4 pm on the weekends during the fall and spring semesters. In the summer, pool hours are 11 am-1 pm and 5-7 pm Monday through Friday.

Are children(dependents) allowed in the facility?

There are special times when dependents (minors under the age of 19 or still in High School) are allowed in the facility with an adult sponsor. These are Fridays after 3 pm and on the weekends. Also during any university breaks (i.e., summer session, spring break, winter break). Dependents can swim at Corbett Pool Monday through Friday from 5-7 pm during the summer session and Monday through Thursday from 7-9 pm, Fridays from 6-8 pm, and during all weekend pool hours during the fall and spring semesters.

Do you have a lost and found?

Yes, you can ask at the front desk or equipment room to retrieve lost items. We generally keep them for 30 days before they are disposed of according to University policy.

Are there group fitness classes offered in Half Acre?

Fitness classes are offered in different locations during the renovation. These classes are included with membership. Class information can be found in the Campus Recreation brochure, at the front desk or here.

Does Campus Recreation offer personal training or aquatic instruction?

Yes, we have certified personal trainers and aquatic instructors available for a fee for either individual or pairs training. To get set up with a trainer or aquatic instructor, please stop at the front desk of Half Acre for more information.

When can I play volleyball, soccer or badminton?

We offer Open Recreation volleyball at Corbett gym Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Indoor soccer is offered in the Indoor Practice Facility during the spring semester. Badminton can be played on Friday nights at Half Acre Gym from 6-10 pm, 5-8 pm in the summer session and Wednesdays from 6:40 -8:30 pm at Corbett gym throughout the entire year.

How do I get to the cardio room?

Cardio machines are located in the north court of the Main Gym on the 2nd floor of Half Acre. The can be accessed by using the north stairs in the main lobby.

How do I get to the weight room?

Weight equipment is located in the weight room on the first floor (in the old swimming pool area).

Where is the Outdoor Program office located?

The Outdoor Program is located in a temporary trailer in the northeast corner of the Union parking lot.

What services does the Outdoor Program offer?

The OP offers: 1)an equipment rental resource area, 2)outdoor outings and educational clinics, 3)a bike library and bike shop maintenance shop.

Where can I rent a bike?

The Outdoor Program offers bikes for a small fee per semester through the Bike Library.

Where is the Recreational Sports office located?

The Recreational Sports office (Intramural and Club Sports office) is located on the first floor of Half Acre, Room 100.

What is the difference between an Intramural Sport and a Club Sport?

Intramural sports consist of leagues and events held on campus with competition taking place between students at UW. Club Sports are at a higher level of competition with regular practice times scheduled and travel throughout the region and country to compete against other universities.

How do I register for an Intramural event?

Registration is now done online at imleagues.com. If you have any questions about Intramural sports, we ask that you come to the Recreational Sports office during regular hours (10 am to 6 pm), call our staff at 307-766-4175 or send an email to imsports@uwyo.edu.
