Summer Outdoor Experience|Outdoor Program

A wilderness-type orientation program for incoming freshmen!

The Summer Outdoor Experience (SOE) is a unique opportunity specifically for incoming students attending summer orientation. The experience begins with a day and a half of rock climbing at Vedauwoo followed by a day of white water rafting!

You do not need any prior experience to participate. The purpose of this experience is to introduce you to the awesome outdoor opportunities in southeast Wyoming and to meet other incoming students interested in adventure and having fun. The program is led by experienced instructors from the Outdoor Program. Trips are limited to 10 participants and are offered in conjunction with summer orientation programs; signing up early is strongly recommended. All food, transportation and group equipment (such as tents and cooking gear) will be provided. Most personal equipment (such as a sleeping bag) can be rented for a small fee if you don’t have your own.
