J-TERM WINTER SESSION 2018

J-Term Winter Session courses run in the time period between the end of the fall semester and the beginning of the spring semester, providing an opportunity for students to earn additional credits in a compressed time period!

J-Term courses will reflect on a transcript as a spring courses and are part of total spring credit hours. Course formats include online, hybrid, face-to-face, Wyoming based field and international travel courses.  Students attending hybrid or face-to-face courses will need to secure their own lodging or connect with the Residence Halls to purchase a winter contract for living accommodations. Wyoming based field and International travel courses may incur additional costs and students interested in these opportunities should contact the instructor for additional details.  Due to the compressed time period of J-Term Winter Session, students must be very motivated and have the ability to produce significant course work in a short amount of time.

REGISTRATION BEGINS NOVEMBER 1, 2017.

J-Term Winter Session 2017-18 will consist of two Parts of Term (POT) including:
POT I: December 20, 2017 (W) - January 19, 2018 (F)
POT II: January 2, 2017 (T) - February 9, 2018 (F)

SEARCH FOR COURSES

  1. Click the Browse Classes link on the Registration page.
  2. Select Spring 2018 and click Continue.
  3. Click Advance Search on the bottom of the form.
  4. Scroll down to Part Of Term. Clicking in the box will bring up a list of Parts of Term. Select one of the J-Terms.
  5. Click in the Part Of Term box again to bring up the list and select another J-Terms..
  6. Repeat step 5 to add the third J-Terms.
  7. Click Search.

WYOMING BASED FIELD:
Wyoming Based Field Courses include traveling to a specific location in Wyoming (i.e. Jackson Hole, WY) to participate in classroom and field based activities - check the details of each individual class for specifics.
INTERNATIONAL AND DOMESTIC TRAVEL:
Travel courses may include preparation work, additional travel / lodging expenses and deadlines for meeting these expenses, and other logistics and deadlines associated with traveling during the winter break period.  Students are encouraged to make contact with J-Term 2017-18 travel course instructors ASAP as a number of travel details will need to be confirmed prior to departure.  Students may register for International Travel courses after contacting the instructor and being admitted into the course.
