Training from EORR

Do you supervise full- or part-time employees at UW?  Are you faculty?  Equal Opportunity Report and Response (EORR) conducts training on UW Regulation 4-2 (Discrimination and Harassment) and 4-3 (Title IX and Sexual Misconduct).  Please note, this is different from the online Everfi training required for all employees.  The in-person training, now named "Make the Call," is mandatory every 3 years for managers and supervisors, including all faculty, and has been well received by those who have already attended.  Employees who attended training of this type prior to 2015 may need to attend a refresher course.  The requirement to attend a training session is important for two reasons:
  • UW is committed to ensuring that the workplace environment across campus conforms to the policies contained in UW Regulations 4-2 and 4-3; that is, one that is free of discrimination and sexual harassment.
  • Under current law, the University may be liable for the actions of its managers and supervisors if they have not had proper training regarding UW's policies prohibiting sexual harassment/discrimination and if they do not take appropriate and immediate action to prevent or correct prohibited behavior.
You can now register for a session on your own by logging into WyoWeb and opening UW Employee Self-Service, then go to Courses and Conferences.  You can view the entire course schedule or search for the course you want to take.  There will likely be more than one page of courses available, so use the arrows at the top of the list to view more options.  Click on the “Add to Cart” icon to sign up.  Please remember that even though the course is free, you must “Check Out” before the registration is complete.  After you “Check Out,” you will receive an email confirming your registration, as well as a reminder a few days before the course. Remember, managers and supervisors are required to attend "Make the Call" as opposed to the online offerings.

Schedule

We are working with HR to schedule in-person sessions for Fall semester using the new Employee Learn Center.  We offer limited sessions in September because we present at many different orientation sessions, welcome back events, etc.  When sessions for Fall are scheduled, a list and registration information will be posted here and sent to the faculty and staff lists.  We will also be offering an online option soon; you will have the option to complete a set of courses through Everfi rather than attending an in-person session.  We apologize for any inconvenience or confusion, and appreciate your patience as we transition and expand our training options.  Please email report-it@uwyo.edu if you have any questions or concerns in the meantime.

General info (parking, what to bring, etc) is available here.  For more information or to register, please contact us via email (report-it@uwyo.edu) or by calling 766-5200.

Advanced session available!

Have you already attended our basic session but it's time to renew your training requirement? Do you want to experience something different than before? Then this advanced course, "Make the Call 2" is for you.  Focused entirely on case studies, participants will apply the concepts and UW policies/procedures learned in the original session.  You will practice resolving sensitive issues in a dynamic and non-threatening group environment.  Be prepared to actively participate in this engaging and educational session designed to further develop your supervisory and management skills. You can retake the original session, but if you're looking for something new and different, CALL JIM.

If you have problems registering, please call (x5200) or email our office (report-it@uwyo.edu).  Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.

Need to find out when you last attended?

You can look up your own training records by logging into WyoWeb and opening UW Employee Self-Service, then going to Courses and Conferences.  Click on "My Courses" to see a list of all courses you've taken at UW and when they expire.  If your certificate is lost or damaged, you can print this page to verify your attendance with your supervisor.  You can also contact our office to request a replacement certificate.

Other Training

Diversity Sessions

Equal Opportunity Report and Response has developed a diversity session that is available to all of campus as well as community partners.  "Putting People First: The Wyoming Way" is not what you typically think of when you hear "diversity."  The session is engaging, fun, and interactive.  Our dynamic session uses conversation, music, and humor to have an honest discussion about why diversity is important, how it affects us all, and how everyone is diverse.  We don't focus on what you should or shouldn't say, political correctness, or blaming people for previous biases.  The session is usually two hours, though a longer, more in-depth session is also available for staff retreats, etc.  Please call 766-5200 or email if you are interested in a session or have any questions!
