Each residence hall is staffed 24-hours a day to provide you with daily mail delivery and information. A telephone for local calls is located at the desk. WyoOne debit card automatic teller and vending machines are located in the lobby. TVs, VCRs, tools, vacuums, irons, brooms, mops, and board games are also available for check out at the desk.
Our custodial staff takes great pride in keeping the public areas - bathrooms, hallways, lounges, and lobbies - in our residence halls clean. If you have concerns regarding additional cleaning needs, please report them to your hall reception desk or building supervisor.
In-house maintenance staff is available to take care of your maintenance needs. Additionally, they are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for emergency repairs - all you need to do is let us know.
Washers and dryers are located in the lower level of each hall. These are operated by using the WyoOne debit card program. Money can be placed on your card in the main lobby on the first floor of your residence hall by using the WyoOne automatic teller. Irons may be checked out from the hall office. Several dry cleaner businesses are available in Laramie.
There are study rooms available in most of the residence halls and in Washakie Center. They are great places for you to study by yourself or with a group.
Free tutoring is available for all students on a drop-in basis. Tutors are available to help with math, biology, chemistry, physics, and writing. Throughout the semester there are seminars to assist with time management, studying for college level sciences and taking essay tests.
Residential computer labs are in convenient locations throughout the halls and are a place to check e-mail, do homework, work on a group project, and "surf the net." The lab computers are connected to the UW student network and offer the latest technology. There is also a large computer lab located in the basement of the Washakie Center.
Residence hall students get free high-speed Internet access through direct connection to the RESidential computer NETwork (ResNet). What does this mean? Speeds over 200 times faster than a modem connection. Plus, you're not tying up your telephone line.
Safety is of concern to all of us. The residence halls maintain 24-hour reception desk service. Doors are restricted to card access only when locked. More information about using your WyoOne in this manner will be provided at check-in.
