Downey Hall is an 8-story building renovated in 2011. The renovations include updates to fixtures and lighting, new windows, new carpeting, increased electrical access, and updates to the floor lobby areas that feature a central staircase between every two floors.

Internet access in Downey Hall has been updated to be primarily wireless. Five wireless internet access points per floor let students with laptops and other devices move freely about the hall and connect to the internet from virtually anywhere within the hall. Wired ethernet ports are available in students' rooms, but they are turned off by default, and students must make a special request to turn them on.
