Tips for Eating at Washakie
- It's easy to take more food than you intend at buffet style dining. Try going trayless and taking only what you're really craving, you can always return for another serving if you are still hungry.
- Make half of your grains whole. This means adding oatmeal, brown rice, whole grain cereals, bulgar and quinoa to your meals.
- Choose colorful fruits and vegetables to make up half of each meal.
- Only occasionally eat empty calories such as soda, deserts and sugary breakfast cereals.
- Go with baked, broiled or grilled lean protein sources and vary your choices to include fish, beans, nuts and seeds.
- Eat fried foods sparingly.
