My primary focus in high school was skiing, extracurriculars, tennis, and horses. I held a 3.0 GPA throughout all of high school. I speak fluent Russian and conversational Spanish. I was a 3x USASA Skiing National Champion, 2x Ski and Snowboard Club Vail female athlete of the year, I was nominated for the U.S. Ski team and was a silver medalist at the Youth Olympic Games in Lillehammer, Norway for freeskiing, I qualified for Junior Worlds for skiing in Valmalanco Italy, I was the number one ranked female junior freeskier in the country. 2x Varsity tennis team. I high school rodoed in Colorado for two years and competed in the breakaway and team roping, I was president of the Northwestern Colorado High School Rodeo Club. I was a 3x club president for my high school Girl’s Leadership Council, volunteered for my local Youth Coalition Council for two years, nominated for the National Leadership Council at Yale University for demonstrated leadership and academic success, participated in Steadman Phillipon Research Institute student science club completing a published research study. I showed sheep through Rio Blanco County 4-H for four years, competed in the APHA shows in the heading and steer stopping, completed a Spanish immersion course at the Coastal Spanish Institute in Tamarindo Costa Rica, did a month long backpacking trip through the National Outdoor Leadership School, was the only recipient of the VFW Veterans Scholarship at my high school. I made honor roll my freshman year of college. The University of Wyoming has given me an opportunity to pursue rodeo at a high level under an incredible coach, and through a program that is unparalleled to any other in the country. I love everything about Laramie, especially my teammates. It is an extraordinary opportunity to be apart of the UW Rodeo Team. My father spent his summers through high school and college working at the famous Tom Sun Ranch in Casper, Wyoming. After completing undergrad at University of Colorado, Boulder, and several expeditions across the globe, he went on to earn a masters degree at Columbia University in New York. He has had a successful career in international oil and gas. My mother immigrated to the U.S. from Russia after the collapse of the Soviet Union arriving with a bachelors from Moscow State University, and earned her masters degree at Denver University. She was a t.v. reporter for Channel 4 Denver and was awarded a regional Emmy for her work. I have two older sisters who both had successful academic and athletic careers, one graduated from Columbia University and works for my father’s company in oil and gas. My other sister attends University of Colorado, Boulder. I am the only person in my family that rodeos.
