Single-Well Diagnostics and Increased Oil Recovery by Oil Injection and Sequential Waterflooding
Description of Technology:
Single-Well Diagnostics and Increased Oil Recovery by Oil Injection and Sequential Waterflooding is a method for recovering immobile residual oil from a reservoir. This is achieved by charging a portion of the region of the reservoir in the vicinity of a well with oil and producing the well to recover both the injected and immobile oil in the reservoir.
Applications:
This technology can be used to enhance and increase oil recovery from underground and previously waterflooded reservoirs, as well as oil reservoirs that contain immobile oil.
Features and Benefits:
This method of oil recovery is cost effective. In addition, this method is the simplest enhanced recovery process proposed. This method has potential applications in watered-out oil reservoirs worldwide.
