Objective Lens Protector
Description of Technology:
The Objective Lens Protector is an O-ring like structure that utilizes special oil absorbent material that attaches to a microscope oil immersion objective. Paper tape is attached to the absorbent material, allowing the user to easily tell when the absorbent is saturated.
Applications:
The Objective Lens Protector would allow microscope users to protect objective lenses from excess oil immersion. The attached paper tape would also allow microscope users to replace the Objective Lens Protector as needed.
Features and Benefits:
The benefit of using the Objective Lens Protector is to protect the microscope’s objective lens from excess immersion oil, thus preventing damage to the lens and reducing the need for costly repair. This would also reduce downtime caused by shipping the microscope for repair.
