What does SAC do? - Top
SAC stands for Student Activities Council which is one of the student groups on campus that brings you events. Most SAC events are free and open to all students, although from time to time SAC will have an event that will cost a small amount of money. Most SAC events are also held on Wed. nights.
Who can be a member of SAC? - Top
Anybody who is a student at UW can be a member of SAC.
When does SAC meet? - Top
SAC meets every Wednesday at hign noon in the Campus Activities Center located in the lower level of the Wyoming Union. Bring your lunch and share your ideas of what events you want to have at UW.
Where does SAC get its money to bring in events? - Top
SAC is funded by ASUW student fees. Every year a portion of student fees are put into an account for SAC. This money is then used to program concerts and events. The account is ran through ASUW and the budget is approved annually by the ASUW budget and planning committee and then the ASUW Senate.
What is the difference between SAC and Concerts and Convocations (C&C)? - Top
Concerts and Convocations plans one to two big concerts or events a semester and there is a cost for these shows. They book bigger events then SAC. SAC books an event every week if not two events a week and except for a few times a year the events are free to students.
What type of events does SAC book? - Top
You name it we will book it. SAC tries to bring a diverse group of events to the students at UW. SAC has booked music, comedy, films, speakers, and spoken word, just to name a few. Anything is a possibility.
Who gets to decide what kind of events come to campus? - Top
The students that sit on SAC make the choices of what kind of events come to campus. There is an advisor to SAC that helps to make sure the council is making smart choices, but the programming is done by the students.
