University of Wyoming

Recognizing the importance of the physical and mental health of our students, the University of Wyoming has developed a two-part Student Health Program: Student Health Services and a Student Medical Insurance plan.

Student Health Services is an outpatient care facility which is designed to meet the basic medical care needs, preventative and therapeutic, of UW students. Participation in the Student Medical Insurance plan is not required to utilize Student Health Services.

The Student Medical Insurance plan is a soft-waiver program under which all undergraduate students taking 6 or more hours and all graduate students taking 4.5 or more hours must make a "yes" or "no" selection for the Insurance each semester.  In addition to the Student Medical Insurance plan, part-time students are also charged for the part-time student benefit package.

Students are allowed to waive their participation in the Insurance plan by declining (a "no" selection) the insurance on-line using WyoWeb during each Fall and Spring semester registration process.
