Who Can Participate?

The Small Business Administration, the SBA, provides guidelines on which companies are eligible to participate in the federal SBIR and STTR programs.

• small business with 500 or fewer employees (including affiliates)
• for profit
• independently owned and operated
• Principal place of business in the United States
• more than 50% owned by US citizen or permanent resident alien
