Wyoming State Science Fair

Mission of the WSSF Teacher Advisory Board (TAB) and Community Advisory Board (CAB)


These committees are being established to build capacity of the Wyoming State Science Fair (WSSF). We aspire to bring the best and most innovative thinking about student science competition to the forefront of all phases of the WSSF. We hope to utilize the talents and expertise of key stakeholders in STEM education from the state and region: teachers, administrators, community STEM advocates (including WSSF/ISEF alumni), researchers and industry professionals from across the state will be invited to participate as we work to accomplish several key goals:

  • Build and extend partnerships between the Science & Math Teaching Center of the University of Wyoming and schools within the state
  • Build and extend partnerships between industries important to the local and regional interests of the state
  • Promote quality research skill development among the students of Wyoming
  • Provide opportunities for sustained dialogue between university and school-based educators about high quality science teaching and learning
  • Create a uniform system of registration, communication and distribution of information related to the WSSF
  • Develop transparent processes for judging and evaluation of student work that incorporate best practices of teachers and scientists throughout the state
