Jason D. Hendryx is an assistant professor in the Department of Secondary Education at the University of Wyoming, where he teaches courses in world language methods and pedagogy as well as second language acquisition. He taught Chinese at the United States Air Force Academy (2008-10) and trained Chinese language teachers at National Taiwan Normal University (2010-13) before coming to the University of Wyoming. Jason has over 10 years of experience teaching English as a foreign language in China and Taiwan, 10 years of experience teaching Chinese in America, and 10 years of experience involved with the training and professional development of language teachers in both America and Taiwan. Jason has presented at conferences and or offered workshops in America, Cambodia, England, Malaysia, and Taiwan. He has published articles concerning teaching Chinese heritage learners, student group formation strategies for teachers in language classrooms, and an approach for teaching Chinese culture. Jason is currently working on a number of articles related to language teaching and learning. In addition, Jason serves as a reviewer for proposals for To Improve the Academy, a POD journal, and has reviewed for Linguistics and Education.
