Fall Courses

Here is the list of courses offered in the 2020 Fall semester applicable to the Energy Resource Management and Development program.  Be sure you have met the prerequisites prior to registration.

Online Courses Offered by the College of Business

On-campus students can take a maximum of four (4) online classes offered by the College of Business. Registration opens for these classes on a space available basis beginning July 2, 2020.

  • FIN 3250 Corporate Finance
  • FIN 3520 Financial Markets - elective
  • MGT 3210 Management and Organization
  • MGT 4340 Law for Managers - Professional Land Management elective
  • MKT 3210 Intro to Marketing - Professional Land Management elective beginning in 2019-2020 catalog

GIS Classes

  • GIST 1100 is taken in place of GEOG 2150
  • GIST 2100 is taken in place of GEOG 4200

Risk Analysis Class

ENR 4500 Risk Analysis (4 credit hours) is no longer being offered. Students who have not taken this class will be taking STAT 3050 Statistical Methods-General (3 credit hours). Some students may need to take ES 1061 Engineering Problems with Spreadsheets (1 credit hour, offered summer session) in the event they fall short of 120 credit hours to graduate.

Energy Land and Water students can taken GEOL/ENR 4525 Environmental Data Analysis when it is offered to meet this requirement.

  • ACCT 2010 Principles of Accounting I
  • ECON 1020 Principles of Microeconomics
    • Meets USP H Human Culture requirement
  • ECON 1200 Economics Law and Government is not being offered in Fall 2020. Students can take this class in the spring semester or take POLS 1000 American and Wyoming Government.
  • ECON 1300 Oil: Business Culture Power
    • Meets the USP H Human Culture requirement if taken under the ECON prefix.
  • AGEC/ENR 4550 Negotiation Analysis
    • Offered fall semester
    • Required for Energy Land Water and Professional Land Management students. Renewable Energy students may take this class or AGEC/ENR 4450 Negotiation offered spring semester.
  • ENGL 1010 College Composition and Rhetoric
    • Meets USP COM1 Communication I.
  • ENR 4750 ENR Law and Policy
    • Offered fall semester
    • POLS 4051 Environmental Politics offered fall semester or POLS 4052 Federal Land Politics offered spring semester may be taken in place of ENR 4750 in the event of a scheduling conflict.
    • Students in the concurrent ENR major take POLS 4052 to meet the ENR Policy requirement.
  • ERS/ENR 1000 Energy and Society
    • Offered fall semester.
    • Professional Land Management students take this class under the ENR prefix to meet the USP PN Physical and Natural World requirement.
  • ERS 4965 Undergraduate Research
    • Controlled enrollment. Please contact Pam Henderson prior to registration.
  • ERS 4970 Internship
    • Controlled enrollment. Please contact Pam Henderson prior to registration.
  • ES 1060 Engineering Problem Solving
    • Register for a lecture and a lab.
    • Professional Land Management students can take this class if they take MATH 2200 Calculus I.
  • FIN 3250 Corporate Finance
  • MGT 3210 Management and Organization
  • STAT 2050 or 2070 Statistics
    • Register for a lecture and a lab section.
  • Human Culture class
    • Select one human culture class of your choice if you are in a catalog prior to Fall 2018

    • ERS 2000 Ethics and Leadership is not being taught in Fall 2020.
    • Take MGT 3110 Business Ethics and PHIL 2330 Environment Ethics.
    • Check to be sure you will have 42 upper-division credit hours when making your selection.
