Brought to you by:

School of Energy Resources           Hess Corporation       Hess Digital Rock Physics Laboratory Piri research group

Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering University of Wyoming

Overview

With this event we celebrate the establishment of a truly world-class Digital Rock Physics Laboratory at the University of Wyoming (UW) that is sponsored by Hess Corporation and the School of Energy Resources (SER). This state-of-the-art research facility is located on the 3rd floor of UW's Energy Innovation Center (EIC) and includes unique imaging instruments capable of mapping pore space and pore fluid occupancy in rock samples, and other porous materials, over a wide range of scales and resolutions. The instruments have been integrated with miniature core-flooding systems to enable the study of a broad spectrum of multiphase flow in porous media processes at different scales with applications in, for instance, oil and gas recovery from unconventional and conventional reservoirs.

The event will include a set of technical seminars by world-renowned scientists as well as a ribbon cutting ceremony.
