York Future of Energy Scholarship

This undergraduate scholarship is available to junior or senior students in the Energy Resource Management and Development program through a generous donation by Harold L. and Aeri E. York to the School of Energy Resources (SER).

Academic Year

The scholarship will be awarded for the 2014-2015 academic year through the student's financial aid package.

Number of Awards

Up to 2 annually (subject to available funding) in the amount of $2,500


Students must maintain full-time enrollment (minimum 12 credit hours) and a UW cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better. Recipients are expected to attend the annual School of Energy Resources awards banquet.

Application Process

Applications will be accepted from current University of Wyoming junior and senior students enrolled in the Energy Resource Management and Development program until July 18, 2014. The application should include:

  • The completed application form detailing career goals and plans, and demonstrating an understanding of issues in the energy arena and how this scholarship will contribute to the applicant's career goals. The application form is the second page of the downloaded document.
  • The applicant's resume
  • Three written recommendations. One of the reference letters must be from a UW faculty member.
  • Unofficial college transcripts
