 Academic Council
The School of Energy Resources Academic Council is intended to represent all facets of the energy teaching and research enterprise at the University of Wyoming.
Academic Council Duties
The charge of the Academic Council is to provide advice and assistance to the Director and Associate Director for Academics on key decisions for the School. The Council will also serve as an advocate of the SER mission within the University by seeking to engage the broader faculty on critical energy-related issues facing the School. The responsibilities for the Council are listed below.
- Assist the Director in funding decisions for the Matching Grant Fund Program.
- Assist the Director and Academic Affairs by providing input on selecting areas of emphasis for future faculty hiring.
- Provide feedback and suggestions to the Associate Director for Academics related to the development of academic programs.
- Assist the Associate Director for Academics in the selection of students, K-12 teachers and counselors, and UW faculty seeking to participate in the Energy Summer Institute.
- Assist in the allocation of graduate assistants, and visiting and internal faculty fellowships.

- School of Energy Resources Director - permanent
- School of Energy Resources Associate Director for Academics - permanent
- One member from the Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources - selected by ENR
- Five faculty and/or academic professional representatives from colleges across the University. No more than two representatives should come from any one college.
- Appointments will be for a two-year period.
