SER sponsors a Matching Grant Fund (MGF) to help UW researchers capture outside funding from granting organizations. The MGF derives from a regular appropriation from the Wyoming Legislature with the expectation that the funds will be distributed through competitive awards. Funding is intended to provide significant additional leverage to new, strong proposals, thereby improving the chances of acquiring them by demonstrating institutional commitment. Requests to match funds for existing projects, projects that have recently been awarded, or projects currently under consideration by the external organization is not appropriate for this program. Proposals must target topics of interest to stakeholders in the energy sector. This encompasses a broad range of areas in the science and engineering, environmental protection and remediation, policy formulation and law, energy economics, and education from P-20 to practicing teachers that support the goals and vision of the SER. Visit the Matching Grant Fund page for more information, the RFP, and the Matching Grant Fund Request Form.
