A competitive scholarship for up to three Boys & Girls Club members to receive tuition,
mandatory and advising fees at UW based on their academic merit and financial need
as demonstrated by FAFSA.
A student must meet minimum Admissions Criteria and Apply and be accepted for admissions by November 1, 2019.
Eligibility: Candidates must be Wyoming residents who intend to enroll full-time at the University of Wyoming and meet one of the following criteria:
Current Wyoming high school senior OR
Wyoming community college transfer with an Associate’s Degree earned by August 1, 2020
Boys & Girls Club Status: Candidates must have a minimum of two years or more of membership and involvement with their local Boys & Girls Club. The UW Selection Committee will require the Boys & Girls Club chief executive officer to verify involvement.
Scholarship Application Process: Scholarship applications will open November 8, 2019 and must and must be submitted online through WyoScholarships, detailed instructions below. The deadline to submit complete applications is December 1, 2019.
Once accepted to UW, go to wyoweb.uwyo.edu. In the upper right hand corner, click on “Obtain Username and Initial Password”, and follow instructions.
When you have your username and password, login to WyoScholarships
Click the Sign In button in the top right corner
Sign in with your UW Username and Password
For first time users; complete the General Application questions when prompted and click “Finish and Submit" when complete
Search for the Great Futures Gold Standard Scholarship Award and click the “Apply” button
All requested materials will need to be submitted by the deadline to be considered
Therefore:
The GFGS Award may fulfill or exceed any qualifying Cowboy Commitment.
Any available Hathaway Scholarship Award will be applied to your educational costs as part of the GFGS Award.
In the event the additional scholarships and the GFGS Award exceed the cost of attendance, your GFGS Award will be adjusted.
Receipt of this award is contingent upon successful completion of senior year of high school and in compliance with UW admission and enrollment policies.
To finalize the acceptance of this offer, recipients must complete the UW enrollment confirmation process online at uwyo.edu/confirmation no later than May 1, 2020.
Renewal Requirements: The award is available for up to 8 consecutive terms (summer terms are not included) for a total of 4 years. Recipients must stay continuously enrolled and successfully complete 12 undergraduate credit hours each semester to maintain the scholarship which is available up to the completion of a UW baccalaureate degree. Recipients must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative UW GPA.
