New Federal Financial Aid Laws for Summer Semester 2012
Federal funds will not be disbursed until the first day of the first class students are enrolled in or May 21st, 2012, whichever date occurs LATER.
Caution! Students who receive financial aid--- and then drop classes without adding and completing the same number or greater amount of credits back---will be required to immediately pay back their financial aid. New, stricter rules, require students to attend and complete their enrolled hours, or pay their financial aid back, even if they still owe tuition. Ask us BEFORE you drop classes and owe money back. Call us or come in, if you have questions!!
Reminder: federal regulations mandate at least half time attendance to be eligible for federal loans. The following indicates half time attendance:
Undergraduates --- 6 hours
Pharmacy --- 6 hours
Graduate --- 4.5 graduate hours
Law --- 4.5 graduate/professional hours
Please contact the Student Financial Aid Office if you have questions, especially regarding the effect adding and dropping classes will have on your financial aid award. Call us at 307-766-2116.
