Counselor Education and Supervision 

The SJRC is proud to have Julius A. Austin serve as it's graduate assistant from August 2013 - May 2016. He is origianlly from Lafayette, Louisiana and came to UW by way of Texas. Julius earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Exercise and Sports Science from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. While receivng his bachelor's degree, Julius was also a 4 year letterman on the Men's Soccer team. Staying at the same university, Julius earned a Masters of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. During this time, Julius worked within a community mental health clinic setting as well as an intensive inpatient treatment facility. Currently, he is earning a Doctorate of Philosophy in Counselor Education and Supervision at UW. His research focuses on exploring the relationship between collegiate athletic programs and CACREP accredited counseling programs. His clinical work includes working with adolescents, indvidual adults, couples, families, groups, and the collegiate student-athlete population.
