You will get a chance to ski with members of the UW University team and be coached by the UW University coaches as well as special guests! Activities will include crust skiing (weather permitting), ski specific drills, training tips and technique tips. You will also get a personalized summer training schedule and a Swix water bottle belt.

The Medicine Bow Nordic Association is pleased to offer the 2008 High School Summer Nordic Ski Camp with Christi Boggs, Rachel Watson and UW Nordic Team members. This camp is specifically designed for high school nordic ski racers ages 14-19. If you want to be a better racer and learn what it takes to be a top skier in the state or at Junior Olympics or be better prepared to continue racing in college then this is the camp for you. If you are considering skiing at UW this camp would be invaluable for you! You will get a chance to ski with members of the UW University team and be coached by the UW University coaches as well as many special guests.

The camp will take place June 7-10, 2008 at the University of Wyoming Recreation Camp. The UW Rec Camp is located 1 mile west of Centennial, Wyoming. Centennial is about 25 miles west of Laramie, Wyoming. All camp participants will meet the UW Rec Camp.

The camp will include crust skiing (snow permitting), ski specific drills, strength training, training tips and technique tips. Evening classroom sessions will include discussions on training, resting, understanding your body, nutrition and other topics. There will be guest speakers TBA. You will also get a personalized summer training schedule, and a Swix water belt.

Camp participants will be living in the University of Wyoming Recreation Camp. We will be staying in rustic cabins and eating in the common room of the camp. Meals will be prepared and eaten at the Rec Camp with all camp participants helping with cleanup.

The camp fee is $225. The cost, once it is announced will include coaching, room, board, transportation and fun! No additional money will be needed by the participants.

Registration:

Please go to the Forms & Registration webpage for online registration and forms to download and mail in. Camp participation is limited to 25 individuals so be sure to register early!

There will be 1 full camp scholarship given and 2 partial scholarships given. The full scholarship will give the recipient free participation in the camp. The partial scholarships will give the recipient free the camp at 1/2 price=$125. The awarding of these scholarships is dependent upon number of people enrolled in the camp, a minimum of 20 total participants are needed to provide scholarships. Only 25 athletes will be accepted to the camp.

No athlete will be able to participate in the camp without signed waivers! If you registered online or already mailed your registration please download this file, sign the waivers and have your parents sign the waivers (if you are under 18). You can bring the waivers with you or mail them.
