Martha S. Williams, Ph.D. is a professor of social work and former dean (1991-1999) of the College of Health Sciences at the University of Wyoming. As dean she was involved in revitalizing the Advisory Council for the College and initiating the MSW degree, the WWAMI medical education program, WIND, the bachelor's of health sciences degree, and fund raising and building renovations for the new College of Health Sciences complex among other initiatives. She also organized annual College of Health Sciences conferences, research grant programs, and degree program reviews and needs assessments in Health Sciences.

Research

Martha's recent research has concerned a follow-up study of 121 organizations to determine what factors have contributed to the advancement of women to higher-level management positions. Research in the last few years has also addressed factors that create policy development and policy implementation discontinuities in public service organizations.
