Master of Social Work Program
The Division of Social Work offers a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree program, accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE). The MSW program has an advanced generalist concentration, which prepares qualified students for advanced social work practice and leadership positions, particularly in rural human service organizations. Graduates are prepared for leadership roles in service, management, and policy-making positions in human service organizations such as in health care, criminal justice, family service, vocational rehabilitation, adoption, child welfare, gerontology, schools, and mental health agencies.
Advanced Program - required summer courses:
SOWK 5499 (Social Work General Practice) and
SOWK 5495 (Social Work Research and Analysis)
Intensive weekend dates for these courses are: May 31-June 2, June 28-30, and August 2-4.
Standard Program - required summer course is:
SOWK 5100 (Principles and Philosophy of Social Work)
Intensive weekend dates for this course are: June 15-16, June 22-23 and August 3-4.
