Majors

Political Science (B.A./B.S.)

The Political Science Field

Political science explores the formal and informal institutions/processes of social regulation. Areas of focus are: analysis of government structures, the decision-making processes, policy content, and philosophical traditions.

The Political Science Discipline

Political scientists examine how governments mediate conflicts of competing social, economic, and political values. Of interest also are the political and legal relationships among world nations.

International Studies (B.A.)

Your Gateway to the World

Pursuing a degree in International Studies will help you learn about different places and contemporary global issues. You will develop a global perspective and the skills to understand the interconnections and interdependencies that define our world. As part of the degree, International Studies students focus on a particular region of the world. Students learn a foreign language spoken in that region, participate in cultural activities outside of the classroom, and may choose to intern, study, or work abroad. In an increasingly globalized world, these elements of the International Studies degree prepare students with the global competence to succeed in careers anywhere. Whether you like studying culture and society, the environment, development, governance, or conflict resolution, there are interesting classes available to International Studies students across campus at the University of Wyoming. The unique interdisciplinary nature of the International Studies program allows students to graduate with knowledge of history, politics, economics, culture, and natural resources in a global context.
