Are you interested in what is happening within the UW community and beyond?
We have just the thing for you: Become a member of Staff Senate!
Perks of being a senator include:
Staff Senate is an important player in the day-to-day life of the university. The Senate investigates issues and avenues that have the potential to make a difference in the ongoing operations of the University of Wyoming. Some of these issues include: fair labor standards and practices, employee benefits, staff development, and formal recognition of employee excellence.
Staff Senate and its membership make a difference by working for and with all staff members to make the University of Wyoming a great place to work. We encourage you to consider contributing to the process by serving on Staff Senate and bringing your unique set of skills and experiences to the Senate.
With the state of Wyoming as our campus, UW employees statewide are eligible to serve if they meet the requirements. This is a great opportunity to get to know staff members throughout the state and bring issues from other parts of the state to campus that Staff Senate can potentially assist with. Currently two senators, Staff Senate President Jim Logue from IT\Client Support Services in Casper and Beverly Bell from Outreach Regional Offices in Powell, are actively involved with Staff Senate.
Staff Senate currently has division openings in: Academic Affairs, Administration, Government, Community & Legal Affairs, Institutional Advancement, Office of the President\Athletics, Research & Economic Development, and Student Affairs. There are also senator-at-large openings for those who would like to serve but who work in a division that is currently full. If you have questions or would like to serve, please contact Staff Senate at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 766-5300.
