Staff Senate is accepting nominations for 20 annual awards, including 2012 Employee of the Year, through March 15.
The list of awards includes the E.G. Meyer Family Award, the Jodi K. Humphrey Award and the Pete Simpson Golden Gloves Award. Some awards include cash prizes. All winners will be honored at Staff Recognition Day on Thursday, April 25, at Crane-Hill Dining Hall.
The deadline to make a nomination for Employee of the First Quarter of 2013 is Friday, March 8.
The 2012 quarterly winners were Carlinda Munoz, Dave Stallings, Michael Kottenstette
and Paula Weems. All four are now eligible for the 2012 Employee of the Year Award.
The University of Wyoming has its own male a capella ensemble, the Happy Jacks, who
perform a wide range of hits that include classics from the 1960s, contemporary chart-toppers
and original compositions.
If you've never heard the Happy Jacks, you'll have your chance at this year's Staff
Recognition Day, set for Thursday, April 25, at Crane-Hill Dining Hall.
The ensemble has performed at UW sporting events, for alumni and students and in community
venues across Wyoming. The Happy Jacks are directed by Nicole Lamartine.
Staff Senate is selling raffle tickets for two prizes to be awarded at Staff Recognition
Day on Thursday, April 25.
The prizes are a Trek 820 mountain bike and a framed print, titled "Wood n’ Horse,"
by Karen Cooper. Tickets are $1 each or $5 for six tickets. Tickets can be purchased
for any UW staff senator or at the Staff Senate office, Wyoming Hall 225.
