Academic Support

Experiencing sexual violence can often make it harder to be successful in school. Both Stop Violence and the SAFE campus advocate can provide academic advocacy and assitance, so that you are still able to successfully continue and complete your education. Some academic options include:

  • Authorized absences to make a police report or get a forensic exam.
  • Communication with faculty to request flexibility with deadlines.
  • Exploring a switch to an alternative class sections.
  • If you have already been working with an advocate, we can provide documentation in support of a Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) appeal

Additional options may be available, depending on your specific academic and personal situation. Come talk to us about what you need, and we'll see what we can do.
