Connecting Parents to UW

I am pleased to welcome you to the University of Wyoming community.  We view our relationship with students and their family members as a partnership. To that end, I hope to have the opportunity to meet you.

Meeting student support needs and involving students beyond the classroom is our priority. In the Division of Student Affairs we want to prepare students academically, and prepare students as future citizens and leaders for today's world.

Recognizing our mission as a land-grant university and the state's only public four-year higher education institution, I believe we have a responsibility to the people in the state of Wyoming and in the nation to educate the future generation of leaders.

In this newsletter you will find useful information on the many services and opportunities for leadership we provide students at UW. The newsletter includes ways you can help your student succeed in his or her college experience, what life is like living on campus, how you and your students can become more involved in the UW community, information on applying for financial aid, advice for first-year students, details about medical insurance, and information about Cowboy Parents. I hope the information in this newsletter provides answers to the many questions you may have.

We want to involve you in your student's experience at UW. Through Cowboy Parents, you can connect to UW, allowing the program to serve as the conduit for information, volunteer opportunities, and parental support.

Again, it is my sincere pleasure to welcome you to the UW community, and I look forward to connecting with you!

Sincerely,

Sara Axelson

Vice President for Student Affairs
