Schedule an Appointment
Student Legal Services is required to verify certain information prior to assisting
students. In order to verify this information students are required to call to schedule
an appointment. The Dean of Students office staff handles the scheduling for Student
Legal Services. The scheduling process is confidential. The Dean of Students office staff does not share information regarding the student
or the appointment with anyone other than the Student Legal Services attorney. If
a student is calling regarding a criminal case the Dean of Students office staff will
not share that information with the Dean of Students office.
To schedule an appointment email: sls@uwyo.edu
The following is the scheduling process for Student Legal Services:
- Student emails the Student Legal Services (SLS) office at sls@uwyo.edu;
- The SLS office staff asks students preliminary screening questions to ensure the student
qualifies for services:
- Student's name or W# to check for full-time status or that student paid the fee package
- Does this issue involve another student, the University of Wyoming, or a University
of Wyoming student group?
- If student is eligible for services the office staff will email the student an intake
form;
- Student thoroughly fills out intake form and emails the intake back to the office
staff;
- office staff calls student and schedules student an appointment with the Student Legal
Services attorney.
Make the most of your appointment!
To make the most out of your appointment please be sure to:
- Thoroughly fill out the intake form.
- The more information you provide on the intake form, the better prepared the attorney
for Student Legal Services will be for your appointment.
- If you do not thoroughly explain your issue the attorney will not be able to research
any areas with which she is unfamiliar. This could result in the attorney being unable
to assist you during the first appointment. In this situation you would be required
to return for at least one follow-up visit.
- Bring any documentation relating to the issue (lease agreement, demand letters, citations,
court summons, etc.)
