Every student interested in an international educational experience must work closely with his/her academic advisor and the university Exchange/Study Abroad Advisor. To get started, attend one of our weekly (during the academic year) information sessions:
Tuesdays, from 2:15-3:00 pm
Wednesdays, from 12:15-1:00 pm
All sessions are held in the Cheney International Center, room 129
Then, make an appointment with a Study Abroad Advisor to plan your program.

For all programs, it is best to complete the application process well before the published deadlines.
Fall Programs
Apply on or before MARCH 15 (deadline can be extended if programs remain unfilled;however, scholarship deadlines are not flexible)
Spring Programs
Apply on or before OCTOBER 15
Summer Programs
Apply on or before FEBRUARY 15 (deadline can be extended if programs remain unfilled; however, scholarship deadlines are not flexible))
*Many programs have earlier deadlines! Please check specific exchange programs/providers for those deadlines to ensure you can choose from all possible options for studying abroad.
*Deadlines for some scholarships may be earlier than application dates.

INST 2200 is a one-credit class which prepares students for study in a foreign locale; the class consists of six two-hour sessions (pre-departure) and one three-hour session (upon return to UW), this course will help students adapt to and understand their host country.
General topics include:
Students will also begin to familiarize themselves with the history, geography, and the sociopolitical/socioeconomic contexts of their respective study abroad location.
