Summer Activities in & around Laramie, WY
Located at 7200' above sea level, the UW campus sits in the center of the city of Laramie, WY. The weather in the summer can range from hot to cool with the average temperature in June, July and August being in the 70's. Afternoon thunderstorm can be common throughout the summer but days are mainly clear and sunny. Make sure you have plenty of sunscreen ... and a rain jacket just in case!

Happy Jack Recreation Area - 10 miles east of Laramie. Accessible via I-80 and Happy Jack Hwy (WY-210). Camping, hiking, trail running, XC Skiing, snowshoeing and mountain biking.
Vedauwoo - approx. 15 miles east of Laramie. Accessible via I-80 and Happy Jack Hwy (WY-210). Camping, hiking, trail running, climbing and mountain biking.
Snowy Range - approximately 30 miles west of Laramie. Accessible via Wyoming Hwy 130 or 230. Camping, hiking, climbing, mountaineering, fishing, mountain biking, hot springs, downhill skiing, XC skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, etc ...!
Curt Gowdy State Park - approx. 25 miles east of Laramie. Accessible via Happy Jack Hwy (WY-210). Camping, fishing, IMBA rated EPIC mountain bike trail system.

Gowdy Grinder - Late May Race at Curt Gowdy - Warm-up for the LMBS
Laramie Mountain Bike Series - 6 race series at Happy Jack Recreation Area ... June - August.
Laramie Enduro - 70.5 miles of offroad fun in late July.
Dead Dog Classic - 3 stage road race based out of Laramie!
