     Discusses literary reflections of Chicanismo, including literature of the Hispanic Southwest, Mexican-American folklore and the Chicano and post-Chicano movement. Though this class includes an overview of the foundations of Mexican American literary tradition and production, the majority of the readings fall into the category of Contemporary Mexican American Literature and were written within the last 20 years. Prerequisites: WA.
