At the University of Wyoming, we understand the special role that parents play as their student transitions to his or her new role as a university student.

Thursday, August 23

During Freshman Move-in Day, we have several events planned for you:

1:00pm-3:00pm

Cowboy Parents Reception
Join Cowboy Parents for a drop-in reception in the Fireplace Lounge in the Washakie Center. Here you will meet other parents as well as pick up some tips to help during this new phase in your life.

3:00pm-6:30pm

Welcome to Wyoming Dinner
Parents of freshmen or students living in the residence halls are invited to join your student for the Washakie Center's Welcome to Wyoming Dinner. Feast on some of our region's delicacies while learning about the many food options available on campus.
7:00pm-8:30pm

President's Welcome Address and Reception
University of Wyoming President Tom Buchanan invites you to join our campus as we welcome our new freshman class that evening. A welcome reception will follow the President’s remarks.

Friday, August 24
No activities are scheduled for Friday morning to allow students to wrap up unpacking and say goodbye to family. For those parents still in town Friday afternoon, please join Dave Cozzens, Dean of Students, for an after-lunch session that focuses on transitioning into parenting a college student.

Students Report to their Residence Hall Floor to Begin Student Programming

Parents’ Session led by Dave Cozzens, Business Auditorium
