Research Interests
In my current research, I am looking at police departments’ use of force policies to learn more about how these policies function within policing organizations—who reads them, who uses them, who writes them (and how). In doing so, I hope to learn more about the nature of use of force policy and how it helps to shape police culture and action.
Favorite...
Songs: Arcade Fire, “Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels)”; TV on the Radio, “Wolf Like Me”; Bruce Springsteen, “My Father’s House” and “Darkness on the Edge of Town”; Youth Group “Shadowlands”; and pretty much all of what Zola Jesus and Lydia Loveless are up to these days. And Bon Iver. And The National. And St. Vincent.
Interests and hobbies
I like attending Poke basketball games, men and women. I like reading. I like Nebraska Cornhusker football. Most of all, I like music, especially going to the odd show. And though recent history would suggest otherwise, I like to hike a bit. I like spending time with my family. I like to travel.
