Where can pedestrians cross Grand Avenue?

Pedestrian crossings will be installed on 19th Street, making signalized crossings available every two blocks between 15th and 21st streets.

How do I access the the UW residence halls?

Beginning March 3rd, 2014, the residence halls can only be accessed through one-way traffic off the 15th and King Street entrance.  One way exits will be located at either 17th Street (between McIntyre and Hill Hall) or 19th Street (east of Crane Hall) depending on the phase of construction.  Traffic flow will be indicated with signs and barricades during construction.  Vehicles will NOT be able to enter the parking lots off of 17th and Grand Ave or 19th and Grand Ave.

What effects will the project have on UW campus parking?

Parking spaces will be removed during the Grand Avenue construction project (see below).  If you find that you are having difficulty finding a parking spot in one of the "R" lots, please call the Transit and Parking Services office (307-766-9800) so that one of our staff can help you find a solution.

McIntyre Hall Parking Lot

In order to allow enough room for large semi-trucks to exit King Street, the McIntyre Hall parking lot will lose approximately 47 parking spaces during the Grand Avenue construction.  The parking space loss will become effective on March 15th, 2014 and will be indicated with "no parking" signs.  Areas indicate in red on the map (below) will be no parking areas.

The UWPD will begin towing vehicles out of the McIntyre Hall parking lot on the morning of Saturday, March 15th.  To ensure that your vehicle is not towed, please remove your vehicle from the parking lot by 5:00 pm on Friday, March 14th.  If your vehicle has been towed, please contact the UWPD at (307) 766-5179.
