Please note that some accessible spaces require both a state disability placard and a UW permit. This requirement will be noted on the sign at the parking space. All disability spaces are enforced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Parking spaces for individuals with disabilities is available in various convenient locations throughout the lots on the core of campus. Please see our parking map for disability space locations. The spaces are indicated on the map by the universal disability symbol.
If disability parking spaces are not close enough to your destination, contact the paratransit service at (307) 766-6686 to see if you qualify for the disability shuttle.
Any student, faculty or staff with a temporary or permanent state disability placard is eligible to purchase a disability permit. A state placard or proof of a disability license plate must be presented to Transit & Parking Services as verification. A university "D" permit, in conjunction with a state disability placard or disability license plate, allows a vehicle to park in "accessible ", "A", "C", or "R" spaces.
A Temporary Disability or "TD" Permit allows a vehicle to park in any "accessible ", "A", "C", or "R" parking space for the duration of the disability. Medical verification or evidence of a temporary disability must be provided to Transit & Parking Services when applying for this permit. A state placard or disability license plate is not required to obtain a "TD" Permit.
For short-term use, accessible parking for individuals with disabilities is available through one of the following options:
When a day permit is used in conjunction with a state placard or disability license plate, it will allow a vehicle to park in any "accessible ", "A", "C", "R" or accessible meter space on a daily basis for $5/day. While day permits are generally not available for ambulatory patrons to park in the Union Lot; day permits will be allowed for patrons with disability placards or license plates to park in the Union Lot.
Metered spaces for individuals with disabilities are located throughout campus. These metered spaces are marked with a universal disability symbol and require a displayed state placard or disability license plate. Meters cost 50¢/half-hour. Disability metered spaces are indicated on the parking map.
Patrons with disability placards or license plates may utilize any available space in the Day Lot, "A" space in the Union Lot, or disability space by displaying the kiosk receipt on the dashboard of their vehicle.
Free short-term parking is available at the remote shuttle parking lots located at 15th & Spring Creek and 30th & Willett. All of the UWYO Roundup buses are fully accessible; equipped with lifts and wheelchair tiedowns. Visit the transit page for more details.
