In 1994, Laramie City Council began allowing residents near the University of Wyoming campus to form permitted parking districts. Parking is limited to only people residing in the districts who have obtained appropriate permits from the city. Permits issued for a district in a specific sector are not valid in any other sector.
Permitted parking districts may be formed in the following neighborhoods:
Sector 1 - The area west of campus, from Gibbon to Kearney between 5th and 9th
Sector 2 - The area south of campus, from Grand to Kearney between 9th and 20th
Sector 3 - The area north of campus, from Gibbon to Lewis between 9th and 15th
University of Wyoming students and employees parking in city permitted districts without having obtained the appropriate permit are subject to city parking fines. The fine for parking without a permit in a designated area is $50.
