Listserves

Communication across our College is a challenge, but one that deserves continued attention. Electronic listservs will not solve our communication needs in total, but they will provide us with one more avenue to share important information quickly. All the listservs described here are voluntary-except for two: the TE-Ed listserv is mandatory for ALL teacher education students and the El-Ed listserv is mandatory for ALL students pursuing any elementary certification. You must go through the steps to subscribe for each one in which you wish to participate. Remember that when you respond or send a message to a listserv, your message will go to every person who is subscribed to the list. The listservs will be moderated (someone will approve all postings before they end up in your email box) to assure appropriate uses. We hope that you will take advantage of these opportunities to improve our communications and the connections in our College!

  • Share employment opportunities
  • Ask or respond to questions that affect large numbers of
    students
  • Opportunity for quick access to connect with off-campus students
  • Share scholarship information
  • Notify students of deadlines

SUBSCRIBING TO THE TE LISTSERV

  1. From a computer where you are logged in under your own
    email address, send an email message to majordomo@uwyo.edu
  2. In the body of the message type: Subscribe TE-Ed
  3. Make sure that there is nothing else in the message; turn
    off or delete your signature.
  4. Send the message.
  5. Once subscribed, to post messages to the listserv, send an
    email message to TE-Ed@uwyo.edu
  6. Upon subscribing, you should receive an introductory
    message, containing list policies and features.

*Follow these same steps for any of the other listservs that you wish to
join by substituting the names below for "TE-Ed"*

HOW TO UNSUBSCRIBE

  1. From a machine where you are logged in under your own email
    address, send an email message to majordomo@uwyo.edu
  2. In the message type: unsubscribe LISTNAME
  3. Make sure that there is nothing else in the message,: turn
    off or delete your signature.
  4. You can also send a message to majordomo@uwyo.edu to remove
    your address from all lists on this server by using "*" in place of the
    listserv name: unsubscribe *

****Remember to substitute the real name of your list for LISTNAME****
