This sharply funny if bittersweet Southern comedy follows the quirky Magrath sisters as they struggle to cope with life’s absurdities and one another. Reunited for a family crisis at Old Granddaddy’s home in Hazelhurst, Mississippi, old maid Lenny is celebrating her 30th birthday alone, wild-child Meg is still licking her wounds from a failed singing career on the West Coast, and the naïf Babe has just been bailed out of jail after shooting her abusive husband in the stomach. Moving from tears to laughter and back again, CRIMES OF THE HEART tells how the sisters together find the strength to escape the past and seize the future with great humor and heart.
